A Recent Tomb

A Recent Tomb

In a recent tomb there is no voice so quiet is the earth
Her bosoms opened and welcoming, of those lost to life’s short mirth
Lightless space, a silent chamber
The final resting place
Of all who lived and pass our way the fragile human race

Mothers Day Poem

Mothers Day
I don’t know who’s responsible
And I know it’s a mighty shame
But someone should be held accountable
Or at least be held to blame
Holding back for that one date
To declare a conclusive thought
Seems totally inappropriate
Since 364 days we’ve got
So I declare an adjournment
To a full years long delay
For allowing emotional containment
To rule each and every day
Today, like every other day
We adore the things you do
but only today is named Mothers day
a special reminder just for you

live fearlessly

I always remembered the saying "live fearlessly"............easily said.....and a constant reminder of how careful and planned we live instead, to insure our methodical demise.

Release from bondage

Absolution

Looking forward I see that life, is the never ending cycle
Of reaching out with deliberate intent beyond todays toil and troubles
But many men will waste away, in futile desperation
Clinging to their guilty path inviting souls damnation
The past is gone and revealed its course of a never ending cycle
To drag us down and fill our minds with yesterday’s wasted rubble

It’s clear to me, that life exist in the higher plain of living
Where chains are left and cast away and guilt replaced with absolution
But some would say they gain their strength from wringing out the sorrow
Of every last remembered wart and blemished laid upon tomorrow
Not clear to them is that life exists at a higher plain of living
Where gains are received by letting go, as condemnation is no solution

Each of us can choose to live offering forgiveness to each other
And in that way a future made upon tomorrows hope is borrowed
The past is gone a stepping stone a vision of ego reduction
Best leaving it there to foil ourselves from repeating our own destruction
To live our lives as tomorrow’s children offering forgiveness to each other
A victory is claimed and a bridge is built and heavens gap is narrowed

Looking forward I see that life is the never ending cycle
Of reaching out with deliberate intent beyond the days toil and troubles
But many men will waste away, in futile desperation
Clinging to their vengeful path embracing souls damnation
The past is gone and revealed its course of a never ending cycle
Yet hope and faith beckons enlightened souls to transcend yesterday’s barren rubble

Reverend Wright

Chastising the Reverend

Reverend Wright
Is all uptight
Because America has heard his words
And how he hates, primarily whites
And blames others I find absurd
If he truly cared for men and peace
Their color would not be a cause
And he would spend his time
Forgiving the sins
Of others that give him pause

But alas
He is quite crass
A man of violent hate filled speech
A reverend of callous, disregard
Abusing his anointed seat
But this is a land
Of great forgiveness
Despite talk by little men
Who use their position
To gain self worth
By strutting like a barnyard hen

So even though
The wind doth blow
And this Reverend must excite his flock
Inflating himself, with divisive words
Of which he will not balk
America is a land
With gracious intent
Despite being under assault
From haughty men
Who blame only whites
For things of questionable fault

A braggart can speak
A fool can squeak
But only an idiot will accept the words
From a man who spends, too much time
Regurgitating hateful curd
America has stumbled
This we know
Only arrogance would expect perfection
As America combines
The worlds dark and light
Seeking destinies hope filled direction
